Costume in Art was the last costume I was going to make for my BA (Hons) Costume Construction degree at University Centre South Essex, so therefore I wanted to design and create something that I thought I would really enjoy. As my source of reference and inspiration I chose one of Claude Monet's 'Water Lilies'. Unlike my other projects I did not have a clear vision for how I wanted the end result to look, however I chose to take on an organic and fluid design style so that the final realisation could evolve and adapt. This unit allowed me to explore my interest in ballet costume and I really loved making my pancake tutu!
Thank you and credit goes to Summer Wilson for being my model for my favourite costume I have made so far!
